Coğrafya Öğretim Programındaki Kazanım ve Becerilerin Kazandırılmasında Jeoparkların Önemi ve Yeri

Jeopark kavramının Coğrafya Dersi Öğretim Programı (CDÖP) ve ders kitaplarında ele alınış biçimini belirlemek amacıyla yapılan bu çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi ile yürütülmüştür. Doküman incelemesinden elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılarak analizi yapılmıştır. Bu kapsamda CDÖP tüm sınıf düzeylerinde ünitelere göre incelenmiştir. Ardından her sınıf incelenen ünite bazında detaylı şekilde ele alınacaktır. Daha sonra ders kitapları incelenerek jeopark kavramına nasıl yer verildiği belirlenmiştir. Jeopark kavramının kullanılabileceği kazanımların sınıf düzeylerindeki listeleri tablo halinde verilmiştir. Kazanımların ait olduğu coğrafi beceriler de eklenmiştir. Coğrafi becerilerin kazandırılmasında jeoparkların nasıl kullanılacağı örnekler ile açıklanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda jeopark kavramına öğretim programında hiç yer verilmediği tespit edilmiştir. Dünyayı anlamlandırmak, çevremizde meydana gelen değişimlerin farkına varmak, yaşadığımız dünyaya zarar vermeden ve gelecek nesillerin haklarını tüketmeden yaşayabilmek, olaylar karşısında analiz ve sentez yeteneğinin öğrenciye kazandırılmasında jeoparkların kullanımının önemli bir yeri vardır. Jeoparkların eğitimde kullanımını ve bu alanların tanınmasını sağlamak için jeoparklar CDÖP’na eklenmelidir. Böyle alanlar dünyanın geçirdiği değişim ve süreçler hakkında bilgi sahibi olmamızı sağlar bu yüzden coğrafya dersi öğretim programında jeopark kavramına yer verilmelidir.

This research, which aims to assess how the term ‘’Geopark’’ is contextualized in Geography Lesson Curriculum and textbooks, was ran with document rewiev which is one of the qualitative research methods. Data obtained through document review was analyzed with descriptive analysis method. In this context, the Geography Lesson Curriculum was examined according to the units at all grade levels and all of the grade levels will be recontextualized in detail based on the units that were examined. Following that, by examining the textbooks, how the concept of geopark is included was examined. Class-level lists of achievements in which the concept of geopark can be used was given in a chart and geographical skills to which these achievements belong were added. How the geoparks could be used in gaining geographical skills was also explained in this paper. As a result of this study, it was seen that the term ‘’geopark’’ was never included in the current curriculum. The utilization of geoparks has a strong role in assisting us with the abilities to make sense of our world, gain the awareness to realize the alterations that has been and will be happening around us and living without harming the environment that hosts us as well as violating the rights of the generations to come. The usage of geoparks in education also grants students with the achievements of synthesis and analysis skills. All in all, to ensure the inclusion and usage of geoparks in educational systems and to enhance the reputation of these field of studies, geoparks should be included into the current Geography Lesson Curriculum. Such areas allow us to learn about the evolution and processes that the world has undergone, which is why the concept of geopark should have a place in the curriculum.
